Dear Friend,
I understand what you must be going through right now. I know because I too have been where you are. I got pregnant when I was in college. I was scared and felt alone. Instead of going to people that could help me, I decided to make the decision of what to do on my own. I decided to have an abortion because I felt like I didn't have any other choice. I was young, still in college, and not ready to be a mom.
I scheduled the appointment and was told that it would be easy and over quickly. Well, I found out that they lied. The abortion clinic didn't tell me that I would suffer emotionally for a long time. I thought that I would just go and get rid of my "problem" and that would be the end of it. I was sadly mistaken. I have had to deal with the guilt and shame of making that decision, which I made over 12 years ago. The abortion affected every area of my life, especially my relationship with my boyfriend.
I wish I would have gone somewhere and talked with people and received all the facts about abortion. I realize now that the abortion clinic didn't care about giving me the facts. They didn't care about me. Had I known what I would have to go through and the emotional pain of making that choice, I never would have done it.
Please don't make this decision on your own. There are people out there that can help you. They will give you good information and help you make a decision you can live with for the rest of your life.
